Please share your Goodnight Moon memories!

Tags:

I realized tonight after reading Jessica's post on reading with her daughter...we all read Goodnight Moon!
I thought it would be special if we could post a memory and or a photo of reading with our kids. Tonight I told Patrick there was only time to read one book to Nathan (Nate was grumpy and tired) so he chose Goodnight Moon out of the two I always read. I included a picture of them reading, Nathan LOVES to listen to stories and look at every page. It was a very long over due sweet moment for Father and Son...

Oh what a sweet picture! Nathan is SO cute!
I guess I'm off the hook for posting a memory ;-)! LOL. Though over the last three years we've read that book about a hundred million times and it's still one of our favorites.

Whenever we get to the page with the rolling hills, Clara always says "Say goodnight hills!" even before we have a chance to say it. It always makes me smile!

As I stated earlier, I pretty much have that book memorized, so sometimes I don't even open it up - I just recite. Sometimes Noah is in the rocker with me or my husband and sometimes he's in his crib. But one of the things we like to do is improvise - so if Watson is in the room, we'll toss him into the story. Or if one of his toys is still out, we'll add that in (goodnight musical bear!).

It doesn't matter how tired Noah is - whenever he starts to hear the sing-song rhythm of the words, his little eyes will open wide, and he'll stare at whoever is reading/reciting and then he lets out a big sigh after "Goodnight noises everywhere."

SO cute.
