What You'll Need:
  • 500 mL (2 cups) flour
  • 500 mL (2 cups) water
  • 250 mL (1 cup) salt
  • 60 mL (1/4 cup) cream of tartar
  • 30 mL (2 tbsp) vegetable oil
  • Food colouring
  • Glitter (optional)
  • A resealable plastic bag
  • A set of plastic cookie cutters
  • A child-sized rolling pin
  • A cookie tin
  • A copy of the homemade modeling clay recipe.


What To Do:
  • Combine the flour, water, salt, cream of tartar, and vegetable oil in a saucepan.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the modeling clay begins to form a ball.
  • Cool for five minutes and then knead in the food colouring and the glitter.
  • Place the homemade modeling clay in a resealable plastic bag.
  • Place the bag of modeling clay, the rolling pin, and all but one cookie cutter inside the cookie tin.
  • Tape the homemade modeling clay recipe to the inside of the lid of the cookie tin.
  • Wrap a piece of ribbon around the cookie tin.
  • Attach the cookie cutter and a gift tag to the ribbon and then tie a great big bow.
